QUARTERLY-ISH REPORT 2Q 2011

Hey, look! Prompt for once.

A ridiculously incomplete, highly subjective selection of stuff I've been enjoying this year that didn't already appear on my previous quarterly report.

My number one album snuck up on me. I'd been anticipating Washed Out's full-length debut for months and months. But I wasn't reviewing it anywhere, so I didn't get a promo copy. And it didn't leak until fairly close to the release date, at which point I was busy with other stuff and only gave it kind of a cursory listen. But it's exactly what Ernest Greene needed right now: an album that refines on and expands the sound of his previous releases, proving that whatever happens with chillwave, he's no fluke. Time to give the dude some of that Moby money.
